Children

We want to help your family enjoy every part of the Sunday experience.

Our desire is to see a generation of children who love God and are equipped to impact their world; fulfilling their destiny in God.

Each Sunday we provide children’s groups for all ages, and our team are committed to providing a fun, creative, and safe environment where every child can learn about Jesus and experience His love.

Tiny Treasures

We provide a safe and happy environment for your baby or toddler, with a wide range of toys for play, as well as some simple activities to introduce God’s love to your little ones. Tiny Treasures is available every Sunday during both morning services, and there is always a supervisor on duty with a team of helpers.

There are changing facilities, and we recommend that parents leave their pram should children need to nap.

We adopt a flexible approach to settling the children into the group and will call parents out of the meeting if your child needs you.

Little Gems 2

Little Gems 2 is for children aged 2 - 3 years. We provide a safe and happy environment for your children to play, have fun, and experience God’s love, whilst you benefit from the teaching and ministry in the main service. We offer a mix of creative play, worship, a craft activity, plus group time exploring simple bible stories and themes. Little Gems is available every Sunday during both morning services.

There is always a supervisor and team of helpers on duty, and should your child need you during the service, we are able to alert you. Refreshments are available at each session.

Sparklers

Sparklers is for children aged 4 to School year 1. Through a variety of fun games and group activities, interactive Bible stories, drama, worship, and craft, we encourage each child to learn to develop a relationship with God.

There is always a supervisor and team of helpers on duty, and should your child need you during the service, we are able to alert you. Refreshments are available at each session.

Powerpack

Powerpack is a dynamic programme for children in school years 2 to 6. In Powerpack, your children have the opportunity to have lots of fun, and experience the power and presence of God.

Powerpack follows our in-house curriculum “Passport to Purpose”, which includes worship, drama, teaching, games, and craft, all of which combine to make this an exciting exploration of the eight core values of KingsGate (Word, Worship, Spirit, Stewardship, Prayer, Discipleship, Fellowship and Mission). Passport to Purpose is a 26-week programme which grounds children in foundational Christian principles. Each child is placed in a small group organised by age range, which has a group leader. Children are encouraged to attend regularly and bring their Bibles (we use The Children’s Bible) and to learn the Word by heart. They earn points along the way with an annual prize-giving and award ceremony.

The remaining part of the year we use other theme-based teaching programmes. We also offer opportunities and suggestions for parents and carers to be involved in their child’s learning and spiritual development.

During each session the children are offered a snack and drink.

“It’s fun, you learn about Jesus, you learn about something new each time and you make new friends” – Kirsty (8)

Information for parents

KingsGate wants to support you as you seek to support and encourage your children in the love of the God.

REGISTRATION:
Child registration takes place within each group. Stewards will be available to help you find the right group for your child. When you arrive for the first time, session leaders will provide you with a registration form to complete; this data is then held on our central database. Each child will be given a sticker to wear during the session: to identify them by name, to alert workers to any allergy information, and to provide a register in the event of a fire. Parents are also given a sticker, which they are asked to present when returning to collect their child. Workers are asked not to allow children to go with anyone other than the person with the sticker. If the sticker has been lost, then please talk with the session leader.

EXTRA NEEDS:
KingsGate seeks to support children with extra needs. Please identify extra needs on your registration forms to help the team care for your child.

DISCIPLINE PROCEDURE:
For school aged children, KingsGate operates a behaviour policy using a traffic light system. This sets expectations and boundaries, helping children feel safe and secure. We want to work together with parents and we may call for your support should the need arise.

PROTECTION POLICY:
Every member of the Children’s Ministry Team has an enhanced disclosure check through the Disclosure and Barring Service.
